Thriller Films

Thriller films are a broad genre of literature, film, television, and gaming that includes numerous and often overlapping sub-genres. Thrillers are characterized by fast pacing, frequent action, and resourceful heroes who must prevent the plans of more-powerful and better-equipped villains. Literary devices such as suspense and cliff-hangers are used extensively to add/create tension and add more of an atmosphere to the film. Thrillers are placed in different settings such as foreign cities, deserts, or high seas. The heroes in most thrillers are frequently "hard men" who are familiar to danger: law enforcement officers, spies, soldiers, seamen or aviators. However, there may also be some innocent civilians that are also caught up in the chaos and, endangered by accident. In many films men usually play the role of the hero however women are also gradually starting to as well.
